Kansas Apply Free Days start TODAY, October 5, and continue through Friday, October 9, at 5 p.m. Kansas residents can submit eligible applications for free to public colleges and universities and participating private institutions across the state.

Considering a university, community college, or technical college? This is a great week to get those applications submitted and save some money!

Happy National Custodians Day to our AHS custodial crew, Stephanie, Satina, Nancy, Jennifer, Carisa, Kevin, Judy, Nick, and Javeyious!

Clean classrooms, ready spaces, late-night cleanup after events, and plenty of unexpected requests. Our custodians do so much to care for our school and the people in it.

🎓 AHS seniors and families: Apply for college without paying the application fee!

Kansas Apply Free Days are October 5–9, 2026. Kansas residents can submit free undergraduate admission applications to participating Kansas public and private colleges and universities. This includes certificate programs, associate degrees, and bachelor’s degrees.

Still weighing your options? This is a great opportunity to take the next step and save some money along the way. Check your selected schools’ application instructions, and see our AHS counselors if you need help!

Senior Families: Keep Your Options Open With the FAFSA

The 2027–28 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is now available! We encourage all seniors and their families to complete it, even if plans after graduation are still undecided.

Why complete the FAFSA?

• Plans change. Completing it now helps students prepare if college or technical training becomes part of their next step.
• It’s for more than four-year colleges. Financial aid can help pay for eligible programs at community colleges, technical colleges, and trade schools.
• Don’t assume your family won’t qualify. The FAFSA helps determine eligibility for federal aid, and states and schools also use it to award assistance.
• Completing it does not commit you to attending college or taking out loans. It gives you information about your options before making a decision.
• Timing matters. Some financial aid has limited funding or priority deadlines, so applying early can help students avoid missing opportunities.

Need help? Join us for FAFSA Completion Night during conferences on October 21 at 5:30 p.m. Representatives will be available to walk students and families through the application.
