Hi there! I'm Rex, and I'm pretty excited to be part of the Augusta University family. I'm a retired U.S. Air Force veteran who actually grew up right here in the Augusta area, so coming back home to work in higher education feels pretty special. While I'm new to the university world, I'm bringing a lot of experience from my military career, including office management, event coordination, and planning—basically all the behind-the-scenes work that helps everything run smoothly for you and your students. I have an associate's degree in Airfield System Technologies from the Community College of the Air Force and quite a few leadership training certificates under my belt. What I love about this role is getting to use all that experience to support families like yours as you navigate this exciting college journey. My military background taught me that good leadership means being hands-on and available when your team needs you, which is exactly how I approach supporting our students and families. When I'm not at the office, you'll probably find me with an apron on behind the grill or out in my garden—both cooking and gardening teach you a lot about patience and attention to detail, which definitely comes in handy when working with families! I'm thrilled to be part of this amazing team and to help make your Augusta University experience as smooth as possible.

Hey everyone! I'm Jenna, and I absolutely love helping students and families figure out this whole college thing. I'm originally from New Jersey and spent some time working in Virginia's higher education world before finding my way to Augusta University. Here's what makes my story a little different—I actually started as a Biomedical Engineering major at Virginia Tech (graduated in 2022), then completely switched gears and got my Master's in Higher Education and Student Affairs in 2024. Trust me, if your student is questioning their major or feeling unsure about their path, I totally get it! That engineering background actually helps me connect with STEM students who might be struggling or second-guessing their choices. During grad school, I worked with Virginia Tech's Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity, which taught me so much about making sure every student feels like they belong. I also spent a summer as an intern working with Parent and Family Programs at San Jose State University, which is where I fell in love with orientation and transition work. What I love most about this job is watching that moment when a nervous first-year student suddenly feels at home, or when worried parents realize their kid is going to thrive here. Now I get to work with our amazing student leaders who help create those special moments for incoming Jaguars. Fun fact: I have a twin sister, so I really understand how everyone's journey is unique, even when you share similar experiences!

Hi there! I'm Mark, and I've been working in higher education since 2019, which means I've seen just about every type of transition challenge you can imagine. My career has taken me all over—from Pennsylvania to Toronto, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, Tampa, Beaufort, and Meadville—before I found my way here to Augusta. All that moving around has actually been great preparation for understanding what families go through during big transitions! I have my Bachelor's degrees from Allegheny College and a Master's in Higher Education Administration, and I'm currently working on my doctorate right here at AU, so I really do understand the student experience from both sides. What I love most about Augusta University is how genuinely supportive everyone is—faculty, staff, and students all work together in a way that's pretty special. My goal is to make your family's transition as smooth as possible by leading through kindness and thoughtfully attending to the unique needs of all families. When I'm not helping families navigate university life, you'll probably find me exploring the river region and discovering all the great things Augusta has to offer.

We're excited to welcome you back to campus for what's always one of our favorite weekends of the year. There's nothing quite like seeing our campus come alive with families reconnecting and experiencing Augusta University together!

Dear Augusta University Family:

We have learned this morning that authorities in Athens have confirmed the identity of our College of Nursing student who passed away Thursday. We extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Laken Riley, a junior and Dean’s List student who studied at our campus in Athens.

This sudden loss of one of our students is truly heartbreaking. Please keep Laken’s family, friends and fellow nursing students in your thoughts and prayers.
