💚 Our Core Values in Action! 💛

What a marvelous week and weekend for the MEI community! From one-on-one academic support to an incredible weekend at the Arts in the Heart of Augusta, we saw exactly what can happen when our four pillars — Parents, Students, School & Community — come together.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our volunteers, Aaron Dixon and our AmeriCorps VISTA partnership through , our Community Quarterbacks, our MEI families, and the amazing Arts in the Heart team for showing up for our kiddos in so many ways. 🎨💚

Our scholars saw Resilience, Excellence, Achievement, Community & Honesty modeled all around them — and that may be one of the greatest lessons we can give.

Now, with just two weeks remaining in Term 1, we’re heading back into another full week of academic excellence, artistic rigor, and life skills — Kroc Center, Extended Mastery Lab, Chapel, RAMPS Band & Chorus, Ballroom Dancing and more!

📖 Check out this week’s Harmony Notes for a look back and what’s ahead.

🎶 Harmony Notes is here! 💚

What a week at MEI! Our scholars welcomed new faces, new partnerships, and new creative experiences as Augusta University volunteers, Aaron Dixon, our AmeriCorps VISTA through United Way of the CSRA, and our collaboration with DeKel mPact Academy joined the MEI rhythm. From RAMPS Band & Chorus to ballroom dancing, it was such a joy watching our kiddos learn, create, and try something new!

This week, all eyes are on Arts in the Heart of Augusta — September 18–20! 🎨🎶

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has already signed up to volunteer. Volunteer wristbands may be picked up at MEI Monday, Sept. 14 through Thursday, Sept. 17 at 3:00 PM. Your wristband is good for the full festival weekend, so please hold on to it!

🎶 Harmony Notes is here! 🍂✨

We’re stepping into September at MEI with our new monthly theme: Creativity Begins at Home. As our scholars continue building stamina, confidence, and ownership of their learning, we’re excited to celebrate the many ways creativity grows through family, community, and shared experiences.

This week, scholars will return to the Kroc Center, complete a new diagnostic to help guide updated PEP goals, continue Chapel/Character Education with Pastor Schwartz, and begin introductions to RAMPS Band & Chorus and Elementary Music.

We’re also looking forward to Family First Friday: Creativity Begins at Home on Friday, September 4 from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM. Families are invited to enjoy a meal, learn about this year’s family area at Arts in the Heart, and spend quality time with our MEI family. Families can also sign up to volunteer here: https://forms.gle/Wo9KgKBegrVcYoZr5

And don’t forget — our 🏈 Touchdown for MEI $6,000 Drive is still in progress! Every gift helps support student success, creative learning experiences, and meaningful opportunities for our scholars.

Week 3 at MEI was filled with creativity, connection, and new beginnings!

⚙️ Our scholars became young innovators during the Mini Engineer Expo, designing, building, testing, and sharing their creations.

🎨 In art, students explored color theory and began preparing for their self-portraits.

🤝 We welcomed ADA Kelli Spencer and Cherise Davis, Director of Community Engagement, from the District Attorney’s Office for a campus visit and tour.

🌱 Students continued developing their Personalized Education Plans (PEPs).

🎶 We’re also excited about our new collaboration with DeKel mPact Academy, bringing opportunities in band, chorus, ballroom dancing, schoolwide productions, and RAMPS — Regional Arts and Music Performance Society.

🎭 Plus, Annie Jr. auditions and crew opportunities are on the horizon!

Next up: our rescheduled Kroc Center Field Study Orientation and another exciting week of learning.

🎶 Week 1 is officially in the books!

What an incredible beginning to the 2026–2027 school year at MelodiousOne Educational Institute. During our first week, students built new relationships, practiced our daily routines, explored the REACH Core Values, completed hands-on learning activities, began setting personal goals, and discovered more about how they learn best.

We also enjoyed welcoming our families and community partners during Open House, including JLUL Transportation and Expedition STEAM Adventures.

Now, we are looking forward to Week 2! This week, students will continue building confidence and independence while welcoming two community partners to campus:

🌱 Mrs. Emily Neuberg, ORLC Youth Leader
🎨 Mrs. Sara Barry, our new partner art teacher from Pop and Paint, LLC

Our first issue of Harmony Notes includes highlights from Week 1, photographs from our opening activities, family reminders, partner spotlights, and a look at what is ahead.

Take a moment to read, celebrate with us, and see how our MEI family is already learning, creating, and growing together.

We are Rooted in Purpose and ready to continue reaching higher. 💚

🎶 The First Note of a New Year

Today, we officially begin the 2026–2027 school year at MelodiousOne Educational Institute!

This year, our students will learn, create, explore, reflect, and grow within a community where their individual strengths and voices are valued. From Morning Gathering and Mastery Lab to Read/Write/Draw, Creative Discovery, and The Final Note, every part of our day is designed to help students become more confident, curious, and connected.

During our first week, we are taking time to get to know one another, establish meaningful routines, set personal goals, and begin our Yearlong Word Journals. Together, we will explore the values that guide our MEI family:

💪 Resilience
🌟 Excellence
🏆 Achievement
🤝 Community
🤍 Honesty

Our theme for July is Rooted in Purpose: Welcome to MEI, and we cannot think of a better way to begin.

Here’s to new friendships, new discoveries, courageous creativity, and a year filled with opportunities to REACH.

Welcome back, MEI family. The first note has been played—and we are ready to make something beautiful together. 💚🎨🎶
