The biggest thing I love about all the posts regarding the United Healthcare CEO’s recent departure is that they all highlight a simple principle - treat people in a way that the world *doesn’t* cheer for the guy who helped you out the door.

Stay curious. There’s a lot out there for you to explore, and even more for you to consider. Maybe, just maybe, you don’t *actually* have it figured out yet (no matter what it is).

A little bit more on my brother, by the way… I realize that many of my Facebook friends here may not know him. Here is an excerpt about him from my book:

“Earlier I mentioned that I started out as the youngest of two. The other half of that equation is my giant of a brother Mike. A proud veteran of two military services, he served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army. He is nothing short of an artistic genius; with a pencil, paintbrush, hammer, or welding rod, if he can visualize the outcome, he can make it happen. An incomparable survivalist, you can drop him off in upstate Alaska with a buck knife and box of matches; he’ll be living large in less than a week. If you gave him 10 feet of angle iron, two tires, some bicycle chain, and a sparkplug, he’d be riding it to the woods three days later. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the easiest time in school due to some of the small-town social challenges. I suspect that, like our mom, he was born in the wrong era. My brother took more after our father, while I tended to take more after our mom.”
