Good afternoon, Lamar-Milledge families!

This is Mr. Lewis with your Sunday update.

The first week went well. We are looking forward to another great week of teaching and learning at Lamar-Milledge!

This week, our kindergarten students will begin the GKIDS Readiness assessment. Students in kindergarten through third grade will begin the K-3 Dyslexia Screener. All students will start the Beginning of Year i-Ready Reading assessment and later in the week, students will take the Beginning of Year i-Ready Math assessment. These assessments help us understand where students are starting the year so we can provide the support they need to be successful.

Please help us by making sure your child arrives at school on time every day. Attendance is especially important during these first few weeks of school as we complete our beginning of year assessments.

Tardies will officially start counting on Monday. As a reminder, school starts at 7:25. After 7:25, students are late and will have to sign in. School ends at 2:15.

As a reminder, if your child's transportation changes, please notify the school before 1:45 p.m.

Day 2: Let the learning begin!!!

Good evening parents!

Day One is done! Thank you for helping us have a great first day of school! We have a few reminders for tomorrow:

• Please put some type of identification on your child with their name, homeroom teacher, contact number, and method of transportation (bus, car rider, or walker). This is especially helpful for our younger students and students who may not be as verbal.

• If your child is a car rider, please display your car rider sign in the passenger side window of your vehicle. This helps us identify students more quickly and keeps the car line moving. If you did not receive a car rider sign, we will hand them out during morning arrival.

• If your child will be riding the bus, they must be registered before they can ride. If you have not registered your child, please contact me, and I will submit the request for you. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for students to be routed.
If you haven’t registered your students, you can do so at the school between 7:20 and 1:45.

🔹 **Student Identification:**
Please place some type of identification on your child that includes:

* Student's name
* Homeroom teacher
* Parent/guardian contact number
* Method of transportation (bus, car rider, or walker)

This is especially helpful for our younger students and those who may have difficulty communicating.

🔹 **Car Riders:**
Please display your **car rider sign** in the **passenger-side window** of your vehicle. This allows us to identify students quickly and helps keep the dismissal line moving efficiently.

If you did not receive a car rider sign, we will distribute one during morning arrival.

🔹 **Bus Riders:**
Students **must be registered** before they are permitted to ride the bus. If your child has not been registered, please contact the school so we can submit the request. Please allow **24–48 hours** for routing to be completed.

Bus registration is available at the school between **7:20 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.**

The first day of school has been one for the books! 📚🦁

Today ran smoothly from start to finish, and we couldn't be more grateful. Our students had a wonderful first day, everyone made it home safely, and our teachers are wrapping up a successful start to an amazing school year.

Our LME Lions were all smiles as they made their way through the cafeteria line on the very first day of school! From choosing their breakfast to practicing cafeteria expectations, our students did an amazing job starting the year with confidence and excitement.
