Yesterday we had so much fun with our friends at the Exira Public Library! We learned about cover crops and worms. Did you know worms don’t have eyes or lungs?!?! Our friends even got to make and take home their own Crop Cover Monster.

Yesterday we had our first day camp of the summer. We had so much fun experimenting and learning at Discover STEM. We learned about hypotheses, magnets, bubbles, open and closed circuits, how does gravity work, that we can be engineers, lots of jobs use math, and symmetrical art!!

We kicked off summer programing yesterday when we visited Launch in Audubon. We learned all about Crop Cover and the benefits it gives our top soil. 62 youth made their very own Crop Cover Monsters to take home and try to grow their own cover crop. Then they learned about flowers, butterflies, and pollination. Thank you to the staff and youth at Launch for letting us share an afternoon of fun and learning with you!

County fairs will soon be underway. Iowa 4-H members planning to exhibit a food product should pay close attention to food safety guidelines for prepared and preserved foods as outlined in the Foods for Iowa 4-H Fairs Quick Reference Guide for 2026.
