Family Friday ❤️

As we wrap up an incredible Week of the Young Child, today we celebrated what matters most—family.

Throughout the day, we found special ways to honor and recognize all of the amazing families that make Little Sprouts such a loving, supportive community. From the everyday moments to the big milestones, we are so grateful for the trust you place in us to care for your children.

Today also held a particularly meaningful moment as we were blessed to come together in support of a little one in our Auburndale community. Witnessing the Tractor Day Parade held to raise funds for little Jedd and his family during this difficult time was a powerful reminder of how strong, compassionate, and connected a community can be when it rallies around one of its families.

Family is at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s the families at home or the one we’ve built here at Little Sprouts, we are truly blessed beyond measure.

Thank you for being such an important part of our Little Sprouts family. 🌱

Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of the children in our care, Little Sprouts is closely monitoring the incoming weather this afternoon. With Auburndale schools closing at 1:00 p.m. (we have not heard anything on Rapids school district at this time) and severe weather expected to reach our area around 3:00 p.m., we are asking families to please consider early pickup if you are able.

If you can pick up your child early, we kindly ask that you notify us as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly. The safety of our children, families, and staff is always our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

We will continue to keep you updated as we monitor the situation. Thank you for your support and for helping us keep everyone safe. 🌱

🌱Artsy Thursday was a hit for Week of the Young Child!🌱

The creativity was flowing as the children worked together and independently on their projects. It was so much fun seeing their ideas come to life and the unique masterpieces they created. We love watching their imaginations shine!

🌱Work Together Wednesday 🌱
This might just be my favorite day of the Week of the Young Child!

There is something so special about watching children come together, helping one another, encouraging their friends, and working side by side. Today really highlights the kindness, teamwork, and problem-solving skills they’ve been learning and growing every single day.

You can truly see all of their learning come to life in these moments. Whether it’s building something together, sharing ideas, or simply offering a helping hand, these experiences matter. They’re learning that working together makes things better, and that being a good friend is just as important as any other skill.

Honestly, there’s nothing better than watching children help others and be helped in return. These are the moments that stick with them. 🥰

🌮🍓 Tasty Tuesday – Week of the Young Child! 🍎🥕

Today we celebrated Tasty Tuesday, and it was so much more than just enjoying yummy foods!

When children explore taste, they’re not just using their mouths, they’re using all of their senses. From the colors they see, the textures they feel, the smells they notice, and the words they use to describe what they’re experiencing, they are building important foundations for both pre-reading and pre-math skills.

For example:
🍏 Talking about foods builds vocabulary (early literacy)
🥕 Sorting and comparing foods builds early math skills
🍓 Exploring textures strengthens sensory development and critical thinking

These everyday experiences are powerful learning moments, which is why it’s so important that children, even from infancy, are supported by educated and intentional early childhood teachers who understand how to turn simple activities into meaningful learning.

Here’s a little peek into our day, our children had so much fun exploring, tasting, and learning! 🌱

These spots are very limited and tend to fill quickly, so if you or someone you know is looking for a warm, nurturing, and safe environment for their baby, now is the time to reach out 💛

At Little Sprouts, we focus on creating a loving, engaging space where even our youngest learners can grow, explore, and feel at home.

Little Sprouts Learning Garden – Emergency Weather Closure Notice

Due to blizzard-like conditions and impassable roads, Little Sprouts Learning Garden will be closed on Monday, March 16, 2026. The safety of our staff, children, and families is our top priority, and travel conditions are expected to make it unsafe to reach the centers.

We appreciate your understanding and encourage everyone to stay safe and warm during the storm. 🌱❄️

03/13/2026

Little Sprouts Families,

With the current weather forecast predicting up to 23 inches of ❄️ this Sunday, we want to keep all families informed of our plan in case the storm develops as expected. Per our handbook policies regarding severe weather and emergency situations, Little Sprouts may need to implement an emergency closure on Monday if travel conditions make it unsafe for staff and families to reach the centers.

The safety of our children, families, and staff is always our top priority. Heavy snowfall of this level could make roads difficult or dangerous to travel, especially in rural areas where many of our families and staff commute from surrounding communities. If road conditions prevent safe transportation or access to the centers, we will proceed with the emergency closure.

We will continue to monitor the storm and road conditions closely throughout Sunday. If a closure becomes necessary, we will notify families as soon as possible through our usual communication channels so you have time to plan accordingly.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize safety during severe weather. Please stay safe and warm, and we will keep you updated as the situation develops. 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱

As we celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, our hearts are full of gratitude here at Little Sprouts Learning Garden.

This season has been especially meaningful for us, from seeing the joy and wonder on the children’s faces during visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus at our Auburndale and Rudolph centers, to sharing our holiday traditions and values with the wider community through a recent newspaper feature highlighting Little Sprouts. These moments remind us why we do what we do.

We are incredibly thankful for our families who trust us each day with their children, our dedicated staff who pour so much love into their work, and the communities that continue to support and uplift us. Watching children laugh, create, celebrate traditions, and experience the magic of the season together is truly the greatest gift.

Thank you for being part of our Little Sprouts family and for helping us grow strong roots in our communities. We hope your Christmas is filled with peace, joy, love, and special moments with those you hold close.

🎅🎄 Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from all of us at Little Sprouts Learning Garden! 🎄🎅
