Polk County families:

Please be aware that starting July 1, 2026, Polk County Public Schools will charge a fee for any private school student who participates in district sports by joining a PCPS school team or athletics program.

The fee is $400 per student per sport/activity. This change is in accordance with Florida law (SB 538), and policy set by the Polk County School Board.

Under the new state law, private school students have the opportunity to participate in district sports that are not offered by their school. Districts can charge up to $400 per activity to cover the costs involved.

(Please note: The fee does not apply to charter or homeschool students.)

Revenue from the fees will go directly back to PCPS schools to help offset their athletics costs for transportation, uniforms and equipment, field and court maintenance, game management/officiating, and more.

Just a reminder, if you plan on going to get a FREE physical and/or ECG this Friday, June 5th at Davenport HS at 11:30am you MUST do the following BEFORE you go:

✅Pre-register by using the QR code by Thursday, June 4 at 3pm.

✅Make sure you bring the EL2 physical form in the sports packet or download a blank form from Aktivate completed with parent signatures.

Before you are permitted to participate in any summer workouts, practices, or conditioning, you MUST be cleared on Aktivate
The following need to be uploaded to Aktivate AND cleared BEFORE you may participate:
✅ EL2 Physical form - page 4 only - MUST use the updated physical form found in sports packet or may be downloaded from Aktivate
✅ 4 video certificates of completion for Concussion in Sports, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Heat Illness Prevention & Sportsmanship
✅ECG for all incoming 9th graders & any 10-12th graders who have not yet played a high school sport.
✅Copy of birth certificate for all incoming 9th graders and any 10-12th graders who have not yet played a high school sport. Email birth certificate to Athletic Director at [email protected]
