The Garden is on Auburn University campus. The old garden was demolished summer 2018. Will rebuild just south of the Davis Arboretum. Stay tuned!

We also have plenty of locally grown turmeric rhizomes/ roots to sell. All selected for high curcumin content, and well adapted for growing in Alabama. Use these in the kitchen, or for planting. Turmeric is good for you! And it’s easy to grow.
You already know about it’s health benefits. You’re probably uncertain about how to cook with turmeric. Don’t feel like you have to have a special recipe, just add it to whatever you’re cooking. Fresh turmeric doesn’t have the bitterness that dried turmeric has. Just do it. Super easy to add to a morning smoothie.

We have plenty of turmeric plants for sale, in perfect condition to plant in your garden or in large pots. These plants grow fast and with great vigor during our hot, humid summers. One plant, well cared for , can produce two pounds of rhizomes. Harvest in winter, after frost has them brown to the ground. If you just want to grow them as ornamental plants, leave them alone and they will regrow next summer. If you buys a plant, you’ll also receive a handout with instructions on growing and using.
The brown film on the leaves shown is after I sprayed them with a mixture of fish based fertilizer and kelp. fertilizer and growth stimulant.
