Ashley Edwards on Life after Prison 03/19/2015

On March 18th, Ashley Edwards, a senior majoring in social work, presented on prisoners' struggle to become self-suficient after being released into society. Ashley shared the case study of a man she currently works with through her internship with the Equal Justice Initiative. Though Mr. Martin, as she called this man, was convicted of r**e at fifteen years old and spent twenty years in prison, he did not commit the crime and was later exonerated. The Q & A on Alabama's prison system was lively, and discussion continued past the hour. Keep up the good work Ashley!
