Welcome to Cris's Place!

My name is Cris Costa and I have worked in the day care/preschool field for over 20 years. I was a lead teacher at A Star is Born in Auburn for 15 years. I absolutely love working with kids. Even when I was a child, I knew it was what I always wanted to do! I finally followed my dream of having my own place for child care and I started my own in-home day care about 5 years ago. I couldn't enjoy it more!
At Cris's Place, your child will enjoy a structured, educational, safe and fun environment where he/she can play and learn with friends. We use an engaging and educational approach in our daily activities, focusing on developing children physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively in the most positive way possible.
In a typical day at Cris's Place, your child will be a part of a variety of social and educational experiences. Every week, we focus on a new 'Letter of the Week', which becomes the source of our Circle Time conversations, art projects, reading activities and more. Daily, the children engage in a variety of projects, games and activities to encourage and support their growing minds. We go on nature walks, educational field trips, grow gardens, hatch chicken eggs, hatch insects, conduct science experiments, work with food and early nutritional and cooking concepts, read, write, color and paint, sing, dance and exercise.
I believe in providing a fun, safe and loving environment where children can feel at home, while they learn and prepare for Kindergarten. We are open Monday - Friday, 6am - 6pm. Thank you so much Powell Arbor Solutions for trimming up this big oak on our playground . The kids had a blast watching you guys climb up high in the tree and thank you David Powell for teaching us about safe climbing .
