The Auburn Arts Commission is seeking local youth 13-18 years old to serve a one-year term in our newly established Youth Representative position.

Are you enthusiastic about visual and performing arts in our community? Interested in helping to shape the future of arts and culture in Auburn? Ready to get your hands dirty and have some fun? If so, we would love to have you bring your passion and great new ideas to the Auburn Arts Commission. Join us!

WHAT WE DO: Our Commission supports and promotes visual and performing arts in an advisory capacity to the City Council, builds/purchases public art projects, programs musical events, and hosts art exhibits and theatrical performances, but we are also a very hands-on group. You might be involved in assisting with various events and projects offered by the Commission throughout the year such as setting up concerts at the School Park Preserve, installing umbrellas and other seasonal displays at the Central Square Art Park, preparing exhibits for the City Hall Gallery, and any number of other activities. (Note: This is a non-paid, volunteer position.)

WHERE WE MEET: The Arts Commission meets on the first Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall at 1225 Lincoln Way, Auburn.

HOW TO APPLY: The Youth Representative must be 13-18 years of age, reside within the City of Auburn OR be enrolled in a high-school level program (or equivalent) in Auburn. Parental consent shall be required. Members are appointed by the City Council as recommended by the Commission.
