The event will be live streamed via Zoom, however opportunities to attend in person are available. We wanted to say congratulations to the top three winners from our Finish in Five event last week! The top ten finalists were able to present their research in person with a limited audience. A special thank you to our judges Dr. Auad, Dr. Thurow, Dr. Roberts, and Dr. Taylor. Thank you to all the participants for submitting your presentations. Also, thank you to everyone who attended virtually and in person.

Happy Fall Semester Grad Students! CEGS will be hosting its first general body meeting of the semester next Tuesday, August 28th at 12:30pm in Student Center 2222/2223. Join us for free pizza and to learn about our organization and upcoming events! We can't wait to see you all there!

We are continuing our CEGS Student Spotlight series as part of our effort to expand the reach of our organization and encourage involvement of all engineering graduate students. Our Student Spotlight for this month is Tenchi Smith!

As the next generation of engineers, it is crucial that graduate students are able to effectively communicate their research to a broad and diverse audience. To facilitate the development of this skill, the Council of Engineering Graduate Students is hosting our 2nd Annual Finish in 5 competition in which graduate students are challenged to present an overview of their research within a 5 minute time limit. After receiving 20 outstanding applications, 7 finalists have been selected to compete in the challenge this year!

Please come out and support your friends/colleagues/fellow grad students Thursday, March 22nd from 11:45 AM to 1:30 PM in the AU Student Center, Room 2222/2223. Lunch will be provided!
