The Region 4 Southern Choctaw Day Camp was filled with opportunities for students to learn, explore, and engage with new experiences! 🥽🚁⚙️

From interactive technology demonstrations to activities focused on college and career exploration, students were encouraged to think about their future goals while building new skills and connections. We love seeing students discover new interests, gain confidence, and explore the many possibilities available through GEAR UP Achieve! ⭐

Recapping another great day at the GEAR UP Achieve Auburn Residential Camp! 🧡💙

Today, students explored the outdoors with Auburn's GeoExplorer program. Campers participated in scavenger hunts around the Donald E. Davis Arboretum, learned about drone technology, and examined rocks and fossils that showcase Alabama's rich natural history. 🌳🌿🪨

Students also spent time with College Admissions Made Possible (CAMP) ACT, who provided ACT preparation and tutoring to help them build skills and confidence for the future.

Another amazing day at Auburn Residential Camp! 🤗

Today, students toured Southern Union State Community College’s Health Sciences and Integrated Manufacturing facilities, exploring hands-on activities and learning about careers in healthcare, engineering, and manufacturing. From X-ray equipment and ambulances to interactive program experiences, students got a firsthand look at the many opportunities Southern Union has to offer.

Recapping Day 2 of Auburn Residential Camp 2026! ☀️

Students enjoyed various interactive activities today, from VR Headsets to guest speakers to leadership and team building workshops. Thank you to our guest presenters Matthew Elmer and Johnathan Medina for speaking to our students and leaving lasting impressions! We're all smiles as we wrap up day 2!! 😄🎉

What a great start to the GEAR UP Achieve Auburn Residential Camp 2026! 🎉

Today, students kicked off the week with orientation, got to know each other and the staff through fun icebreaker activities, and participated in a session with the Connell School of Writing. It was a great first day filled with new connections, learning, and lots of smiles.

We can't wait to see what the rest of the week has in store! 🐅☀️

Lowndes Central High School students enjoyed a facility tour at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing, where they received information on the S.C.O.R.E. and H.I.R.E. programs for high school students. The students also learned about the dual enrollment partnership between Hyundai and Trenholm State Community College. Students learned about all of the careers that are offered at the Montgomery Hyundai facility. After touring the vehicle showroom, the students were able to meet Spot, the robotic dog, and were able to complete a guided tour of the manufacturing facility. Students witnessed the start-to-finish production of the Hyundai Genesis, the Hyundai Sonata, the Hyundai Santa Fe, and the Hyundai Santa Cruz. Thank you to Lowndes Central Career Tech teacher, Mrs. Bridget Davis, for escorting the students on the field trip, and thank you to Hyundai Motor Manufacturing for facilitating such an informative career tour.

GEAR UP Achieve students at Section High School recently spent time at the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Center for OutReach Development (CORD), where they explored opportunities available after graduation, participated in interactive activities, and engaged in meaningful conversations about their future goals. Congrats to our students for taking the next step towards their future!

The University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Center for OutReach Development (UAB CORD) continues to be an excellent partner for GEAR UP Achieve! Recently, 9th grade GEAR UP Achieve students from Region 9 at Bullock County High School visited UAB CORD and had the opportunity to explore campus life and envision themselves as future college students.

Region 11 students from four GEAR UP Achieve high schools in Crenshaw County and Pike County participated in a GEAR UP Achieve summer day camp today. Their experience involved a college tour of Southern Union State Community College in Wadley, Alabama, where they got a glimpse into student life as a SUSCC Bison.

College tours and summer camp experiences are core elements of the GEAR UP Achieve student experience and we're excited to show you what the rest of our summer programming has in store!
