Flashback Friday!

An API student drove a car in 1928 that was designed to resemble an airplane. As a nod to Charles Lindbergh, who completed the first nonstop transatlantic flight in 1927 aboard The Spirit of St. Louis, this imaginative (and unnamed) student created a terrestrial Spirit of Auburn!

Drop-in workshop at Special Collections & Archives. The art of typesetting and printing by hand! On Friday, 9/18/26, students learned to compose a short phrase or sentence using wood or metal type and print your creative composition with the library’s letterpress printers. Look out for more hands-on sessions in the future!
