2026 Southeast Nebraska Alfalfa and Wheat Expo Set for August 28

Southeast Nebraska wheat and alfalfa producers can gain latest insights to improve crop health and productivity by attending Nebraska Extension’s 2026 Southeast Nebraska Alfalfa and Wheat Expo on Friday, August 28, 8:30 – 4:00 p.m. at the Southeast Community College, 4771 W Scott Rd, Beatrice.
Topics include:
• Transition to organic wheat
• Wheat variety selection criteria
• Wheat and alfalfa diseases
• Alfalfa insect management
• Alfalfa and livestock production

A set of keys was found in the livestock area of the fairgrounds hooked to a fence. If you lost a set please stop by the extension office to claim them with a description.

Our 2026 Nemaha County Fair has come and gone. It was a very hot and humid fair, but one I’d call successful. Thanks to all our supporters who send money to our Friends if 4-H fund or bought animals at our livestock premium sale. Thanks to all our volunteers who gave so much of their time to mentor, help and lead our youth and shows. Thanks to all the families and youth who endured, planned, adapted, worked hard this year and were successful. Thanks to our fairboard for getting the facilities ready and helping out in many different ways. The 4-H and fair community is one I’m very proud to be a part of! -Sheena
