We are beyond proud to celebrate our incredible 2026 award winners! These brilliant young minds have spent months designing, prototyping, and perfecting inventions that solve real-world problems. From eco-friendly birthday treats to high-tech athletic gear, the future is looking very bright (and very clever).

Here is a look at this year’s winning lineup:

🏅 Innovation in Sports & Leisure

Ian F. (Switch Hitters): Baseball cleats with interchangeable spikes that use a simple peel, push, and pull system.

Priya W. (Volleyball AI App): An app that uses AI to assess your skill level and provide custom instructional videos.

Lilah O. (Odor-Eater): A soccer bag with a built-in fan and deodorizing balls to keep smelly gear fresh.

🏥 Health & Accessibility

Mikyla L. (V.E.C.K. System): A patch and suture system using vitamins E, C, and K to speed up wound recovery.

Scott M. (Side Quest): A 3D-printed VR controller holder designed for gamers with smaller hands or disabilities.

🌍 Sustainability & Tech

Erika E. (Edible Candles): A delicious, zero-waste replacement for traditional wax candles that end up in landfills.

🛡️ Judges Choice

Preston C. (Protective Shield): A shield featuring a battery-powered flashing light system designed to disorient and deter.

Derek R. (Nutrition/Fitness App): A simplified tracker that logs meals and creates plans just by snapping a photo of your fridge.

Auburn Village School Celebrates Spelling Bee Triumphs!
Our fifth through eighth-grade students recently showcased their exceptional spelling skills for the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The school bee's final round was a close competition, between our grade level winners: Logan Cate (5th), Violet Monroe (6th), Noah Eldrige (7th), and Ariana Folia (8th).
In a close race, spanning over 10 rounds, Violet Monroe took home the title as the AVS Spelling Bee Winner! We wish her the best of luck as she advances to the next round. Join us in applauding our talented spellers!

The CoderZ NH Spring Robotics Competition begins in late February with a Training Camp so that competitors can learn and understand the blocks used for the block coding. Also, it teaches them how to use all the tools. Training Camp lasts 2-3 weeks. Next, CoderZ opens up 2 rounds of Preliminaries. The top 3 teams in each division are invited to the finals. This year, because not all 6 team members on each team were able to attend, CoderZ went with the highest scorer from each team. There were 3 missions that needed to be completed. We had all 6 team members so they decided that 2 members would tackle each of the 3 missions. At the end of the competition the 3 highest scorers were from AVS!!!!!! The Oliver's Eionians team won 1st place in the Pro Division. They went up against 2 high school teams. During the preliminaries there were a total of 5 teams. The finals were held at Pinkerton Academy on Friday, May 17th.

As for the season . . . . It was made possible from a Title IV Federal Grant. Thank you to Jen Bordis and Meg Largy who were instrumental in helping AVS get the grant. This year there was approximately a 40% increase in participation. Twenty-four students signed up to participate. One team competed in the Pro Division and 3 teams competed in the Novice Division. With over 70 teams in the Novice Division, all 3 teams finished in the top 8.
