Recently, the Auburn University NOBCChE Chapter went to Sanford Middle School in Opelika and showed some cool chemistry experiments. Our graduate and undergraduate student volunteers conducted demonstrations that included elephant toothpaste, flaming gummy bears, Mentos & Coke, and exploding pumpkins!

Clay Black from the Gorden group just made history by being the first Auburn Chemistry & Biochemistry graduate student to successfully defend his Ph.D. thesis via Zoom! Congratulations Dr. Black!
If anyone is wondering why Clay is holding up a cup and saucer -- Gorden group members always receive a gift of 1960s-era uranium-glazed Fiestaware or Vaseline glass at their defense.
