I almost chose this contractor - I’m so glad i didnt! Because I got mutliple quotes, I learned about a code requirement that wasn’t spelled out on the quote.

When I questioned it (could have easily been included and just not stated or an honest mistake since it was a newer code requirement), I got ghosted....huge red flag.

This is a very valid concern: one of the most important things you can do to protect yourself is making sure the contractor you hire is licensed and insured.

Otherwise, you could be left with the bill if something goes wrong. No license/insurence? = walk away!
