Stepping into a new grade level can bring a few butterflies! But Isaiah 43:1 reminds us: “Do not fear.” We’re so excited to step into another year of growth and discovery together!

One way BV helps quiet the "butterflies" is by hosting an all school breakfast on the day students get out at noon to enjoy the state fair with their families.

This long time tradition helps instill courage for the new journey and faith for the future.

Students are surrounded by new friends, pastors from our local pastors, former teachers and staff, and even parents.

"Satan knows your name but calls you by your mistakes; God knows your mistakes, but calls you by name!"

Everyday the staff at Buena Vista SDA School remind our students that they serve a God that has created them "fearfully and wonderfully made" and Jesus has redeemed them and calls them by name.

Thank you to each one of our amazing staff for all they do lead our students into a close and saving relationship with Jesus Christ. As a reward, Mr. Morgan is giving you Monday, 9/7 off!

"Community is a group of people sharing a common goal."

The Buena Vista SDA school community came together on Sunday to celebrate the 3rd annual Car Show organized by BVs Home and School organization.

Home and School at BV is led by Norma Salazar. Norma has a passion for community and has worked hard to make the dream of a BV Car Show a reality. Today was our 3rd annual show.

Today, on the last day of August, our community enjoyed beautiful cars, a fun Car wash conducted by our 6th grade class, fellowship, and food.

Awards included principals choice, kids choice, viewers choice, best classic, best muscle, best modern, best of show, best original, and best paint. All told this year we had 23 participating cars.

Purpose is the fundamental reason for which something exists, is created, or is done. It serves as an underlying objective, intention, or governing direction.

This then, explains why Buena Vista SDA School exists, to lead our students into a close and saving relationship with Jesus.

This is only one step in helping our children understand their purpose, to answer the question "what was I created to do with my life?"

Buena Vistas supporting churches help answer this question by allowing our kids to participate in worship. Here are just a few clips of students reading scripture, leading praise and worship, or being willing to come up during a sermon to help teach the lesson of "integrity". Take a look

Now its BV's turn; while many schools have started before us, our first day was officially today.

Two days of registration led to today; a day filled with prayer, giggles, laughter, procedures, routines, and "get to know activities".

At pick up students responded with an exuberant "YES!" when asked if it was a good day. Thank you so much to all of our churches, staff, our pastors, and families for helping make today such a wonderful day!

Enrollment is still open except 6th grade. If you would like more information, call 253-833-0178.

This week has been a busy week. Staff met Tuesday morning to review the nuts and bolts of the new school year followed by a lunch with invitees from the board and Pastors.

This was followed by a prayer walk with prayer walk coordinator Darla Riotta specifically praying over each teacher, classroom, support staff, student, and family. We ask for your continued prayers as well! ❤️

K-4 teachers met midweek to discuss standards based learning and the following day 5-8 teachers met with music teacher Molly Santana to discuss music for the year plus "compliance vs. Learning" as we prepare for the new year.

This week wraps up a very busy summer of building upgrades and facility repairs in preparation of registration Monday and Tuesday of next week and the launch of the 2026-2027 school year on Wednesday.
