Responding to Anti-Asian Violence and Georgia Shootings 03/18/2021

Today, we want to acknowledge, name, and condemn the act of white supremacist, misogynist terror in Atlanta against Asian American and Asian women. We are holding space for AAPI communities in Atlanta and around the country as we grapple with continued terror and violence. It is no coincidence that this attack, and the ongoing anti-Asian racism and sexism in the U.S. come at a time when political leaders continue to propagate damaging, dehumanizing rhetoric, even doubling down on messages around the pandemic and the coronavirus.

Learning for Justice (formerly Teaching Tolerance) has a powerful message we pass along here, as well as resources for educators.

Responding to Anti-Asian Violence and Georgia Shootings After a shooting spree in Georgia took the lives of eight people—including six Asian American women—it’s important to pause, check in and prioritize care.
