Dr. Kamden Strunk and Dr. Nancy Thacker are recruiting LGBTQ+ adults living in Alabama to participate in a research study on LGBTQ+ affirming mental healthcare. Today, we want to acknowledge, name, and condemn the act of white supremacist, misogynist terror in Atlanta against Asian American and Asian women. We are holding space for AAPI communities in Atlanta and around the country as we grapple with continued terror and violence. It is no coincidence that this attack, and the ongoing anti-Asian racism and sexism in the U.S. come at a time when political leaders continue to propagate damaging, dehumanizing rhetoric, even doubling down on messages around the pandemic and the coronavirus.
