World's first field-installed, clinically-approved parallel transmit 7T MRI scanner resides at Auburn University
Certified by the Food and Drug Administration for use on clinical patients, the $9 million Siemens MAGNETOM 7T — centerpiece of the newly named Samuel Ginn College of Engineering's Neuroimaging Center — provides superior images compared to the university’s previous 7T research device.

A big "War Eagle!" is in order for the first FDA-approved clinical 7T scanner in the world, and it's right here in Auburn!
The Food and Drug Administration has certified the MRI Center's 7T scanner for use on clinical patients. Before this certification, 7T scanning could only be done for research purposes, but now we have the ability to help image clinically.
This is an incredible update for the MRI Center and for Auburn University. FDA certification opens doors in research and treatment that cannot be done anywhere else in the world!
