Yay!!
Chemical engineering assistant professor Symone Alexander is turning discarded pecan shells into sustainable, high-performance cellulose nanofibers — a green alternative to the synthetic fibers we use daily.
Her project, Shellulose, is one of nine startups selected for the Alabama Biomanufacturing Program’s first cohort, receiving support to scale up and bring clean innovation to life.
This is sustainability, circular economy, and rural collaboration in action. 🍃
