Harriet Tubman Boosters The Harriet Tubman Boosters: Celebrating Harriet Tubman's life and work in Auburn, NY The Harriet Tubman Boosters organization is located in Auburn, NY.

We typically meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at the Equal Rights Heritage Center on South Street. Since the Covid-19 pandemic we have been meeting on line. You can find the Zoom link on our website. Our Mission is to keep Harriet Tubman's legacy alive in our community, the surrounding area, and beyond. Harriet Tubman lived a life of self-sacrifice, unconditional love and compa

ssion. She repeatedly put her own life on the line to better the lives of others. After the Underground Railroad and throughout the Civil War she continued to serve as scout, spy and the first woman to lead a military raid up the Combahee River in South Carolina, rescuing over 700 enslaved persons from plantations there. She chose to make Auburn, NY her home and continued to selflessly provide for the homeless, sick and elderly. She is a source of pride for our whole community and we are grateful that she has finally been recognized as worthy of a National Historical Park. We are dedicated to providing opportunities for education and discussion around the life of Harriet Tubman and encourage the broader community to partner with us to plan events throughout the area to maintain a focus on Tubman's life and legacy. The HTB welcomes new members. Suggested program support starts at $25.00 annually, but no one will be turned away at any support level you can manage. Monetary and in-kind donations are gratefully accepted. Checks may be made out to the Harriet Tubman Boosters and mailed to HTB, 144 Genesee St., Suite 102-122, Auburn, NY 13021, use the PayPal account on our website, www.harriettubmanboosters.org, or via ​VENMO. September is International Underground Railroad Month in Maryland — and in Dorchester County, Maryland (Harriet Tubman’s birthplace), there are especially meaningful ways to connect with that history. This year brings the first-ever Harriet Tubman Summit, the reopening of the Harriet Tubman Museum, Emancipation Day at the Tubman Visitor Center, and a new “Tubman Country” road trip designed to help visitors explore the landscape and stories that shaped Tubman’s life.

Have you ever wondered how you can get connected to your national parks? Well, one of the best ways is through the Junior Ranger program!

Junior Ranger programs connect kids and their families to the people, places, and stories of the National Parks. Junior Ranger programs are designed for kids and their families, but people of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate. Upon completion of the program, you will be awarded with your very own Junior Ranger badge after taking the pledge!

At Harriet Tubman National Historical Park, the Junior Ranger program is a great way to learn more about Harriet Tubman’s life and the legacy she left behind in Auburn, NY. Learn about her African roots, how she self-emancipated, her rich community in Auburn, and her social activism through fun guided activities. Explore and connect to Tubman’s spirituality and the Thompson Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church throughout your visit and participation in the Junior Ranger program.

Join the Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families (MDVMF) to celebrate the life and legacy and Brigadier General Harriet Tubman.

On Saturday, August 29 at 12pm, MDVMF will host an inspiring afternoon at the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park in Church Creek, MD.

The event will include a ranger-led tour, a screening of Harriet Tubman: Visions of Freedom, and a discussion reflecting on her courage, faith, and unwavering commitment to liberty and justice for all.

Hear from descendants of Harriet Tubman and Ms. Adrian Lewis, organizer of Harriet Tubman Weekend (September 26-27 on the Eastern Shore).
