Comin' up Tuesday, September 3rd!!

Had a very full day. Just want to say thank you to Overcomer Academy Staff, Supt. Pastor Bonnie Woodbeck Carpenter, Melina Gabrielsen, Miss Crystal, Cara Sprossig, Principal Medgar Wells. My Love (grandson) spent the night with me on Friday. We were playing, and he just matter of factly said, "In Christ, you are a new creation, 5:17, " and continued to play. I asked him what he said, and he repeated it, smiled, and we continued to play.
A few hours later, he was drawing and sang a song about God being Great, and God being strong -- it was a new song to me, so he taught us. When he prays, his conviction is amazing. He says how much he loves his school and his friends, and how much he loves God. There is NOTHING like seeing the fruit of a positive academic program! Blessings!

Students enjoyed learning about and listening to the fascinating sounds of strings in today’s assembly! They had lots of questions and were especially attentive!
The arts play an essential role in the development of the brain and in learning. As well as paying close attention to the overall education process, we are committed to weaving the arts and standard curricula together to create a richer and more lasting learning experience for our students.

Every Wednesday we have "Morning Cafe" with our middle schoolers. We munch on homemade snacks and take time to catch our breath before returning to class.
This time is about connection. These middle schoolers are leaders at OA, and it's important that they know how vital they are. At times there may be an "impartation" from Mr. Wells or Pastor Bonnie. Mostly, we take intentional time to be together and remember who God is calling us to be, now and in the future.
