A few weeks ago, our team had the opportunity to attend and present at the 2026 Gulf Coast Cattlemen’s Conference hosted by the Alabama Extension Beef and Forages team. We had a great time sharing information on precision ag options with livestock producers along with doing a gps guidance and drone spraying demonstration.

For the past couple weeks, our team has been on the go attending and presenting at various events across the state. Some of these included East Alabama Crops Tour, Tennessee Valley Research and Extension Center Row Crops Field Day and the Science for Success Graduate Student Tour. We are grateful for the opportunity to share our research and collaborate with growers, industry, and other stakeholders!!

Happy Independence Day!🇺🇸🥜
For 250 years, America's strength has been built on hard work, determination, and grit. Today, we celebrate the farmers, families, and communities who continue that legacy by helping feed our nation and keep agriculture strong.
As we gather with family and friends this Fourth of July, we're grateful for the freedoms we enjoy and the dedicated farmers who help make the American way of life possible.

Over the last couple of weeks, the crew has been hustling hard to wrap up data collection in our various on-farm trials across the state. In between, we also did some drone spraying in pastures, shared information at crop scout schools, did a drone demonstration at an workshop, and helped troubleshoot some sprayer issues. We are ready for some and wish everyone a great 4th of July weekend as well!!

Our new blog post covers some useful tools that can make sprayer calibration (and nozzle selection) easier, faster, and hopefully less frustrating. Check it out and let us know if we can help with any of your sprayer or other machinery/technology needs!! Alabama Extension
Sprayer Calibration Tools
Proper sprayer calibration is one of the most important aspects of effective pesticide applications, as it helps ensure that the sprayer is delivering the target application rate (gallons per acre,…

With wrapped up, our team has been busy collecting data in different studies across the state so we can evaluate the performance of various planter technologies and other treatments. We will sharing some of this data at the upcoming field days at AU research and experiment stations!!

Time to introduce another team member who joined us earlier this year. Sydney Hickman is from Fort Payne, Alabama, and is a senior in the Biosystems Engineering major at Auburn University. After graduation next spring, she plans to continue her studies by pursuing an MS degree in Biosystems Engineering with an emphasis in precision agriculture.
Sydney's favorite part about working in our program is getting hands-on experience and learning more about how technology is actually used in agriculture. She also enjoys being part of research that has an impact and being surrounded by people who are always willing to help, teach, and make the work environment enjoyable!!

Real Data. Real Results.
Harris Precision Solutions is proud to collaborate with AU Precision Ag to conduct real-world spray pattern testing using the same herbicide loads and application rates we use every day in the field.
We're measuring droplet distribution, swath width, coverage consistency, and application performance to ensure every acre receives the coverage it's supposed to.
Why does it matter? Better spray patterns mean fewer skips, fewer overlaps, less waste, better w**d control, and more value for our customers.
Precision backed by data. Results backed by proof.
