Thomas Jefferson High School is a public IB World school located in the Federal Way Public School District. TJ received authorization in the IB Middle Years Program (MYP) in August 2013. All TJ 9th & 10th graders are full time IB MYP students. IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education—that we believe is important for our students.The IB Middle Years Program, for students aged 11 to 16, provides a framework of academic challenge that encourages students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world, and become critical and reflective thinkers.* Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its three academic programs: the Primary Years Program (PYP), the Middle Years Program (MYP) or the Diploma Program (and in addition the IB Career-related Certificate). 9th GRADE: Thomas Jefferson High School is excited to meet our incoming 9th graders! Come get a feel for who we are and what we do; we will have teachers from every department there, as well as students, coaches, and advisors from our many clubs and sports. Check out performances from Speech and Debate, Cheer, Dance, and our Music Programs. There will be snacks and raffle prizes for you to start getting your Raider wardrobe ready!

Doors open at 5:00 for an informational meeting about IB and the main event will start at 5:30 with a message from Principal Rush. If you are interested in learning more about earning college credit in high school, there will be another informational meeting starting at 6:30.

CURRENT TJ STUDENTS: If you started at TJHS after the school year started, or you want to know how you can get more out of your four years at TJ, this night is for you! ! We will have teachers from every department there, as well as students, coaches, and advisors from our many clubs and sports. Make a plan for the classes you want to take and find the club you're meant to be in! Check out performances from Speech and Debate, Cheer, Dance, and our Music Programs.

Enjoy the long weekend, Raiders!

As a friendly reminder, there will be no school on Friday, October 10 due to Teacher Professional Development Day. This provides valuable time for our educators to enhance skills and prepare to provide our scholars high levels of learning and support throughout the school year. The Thomas Jefferson math team continued its nation leading streak of 30 straight conventions being in the Top Ten Schools in Nation with a 9th place team finish at this year's 53rd annual Mu Alpha Theta National Convention held in Orlando Florida. The team of 36 students and 6 adults traveled July 6th to July 11th to Orlando and competed all week among 50 of the strongest schools from around the Nation. Way to go Raiders!
