Auburn teachers, dream big for a minute.

If budget, time and logistics weren’t an issue, what’s one thing you would love to bring into your classroom for your students?

A new piece of equipment? A special experience? Books? Technology? Art supplies? Something completely unexpected?

We’re asking simply because we love hearing the ideas Auburn educators are thinking about — and sometimes the best classroom innovations start with a simple “What if?”

AEF grant funding is awarded through our formal application and review process, but today we just want to hear the ideas.

A brighter future starts with one great idea, and the resources to bring it to life.

This past school year, Seward Elementary kindergarteners transformed their study of seasons and weather into a working newsroom.

As part of their Amplify unit, students used a dramatic-play weather station to step into the role of meteorologists, practice what they were learning and bring classroom lessons to life. The project even caught the attention of meteorologist Kate Thornton, who visited Seward and featured the students on the morning news.

This is what an Auburn Education Foundation classroom grant can do.

It gives educators the opportunity to create hands-on experiences that go beyond the regular classroom budget, and gives students new ways to explore, imagine and learn.

When you participate in Gobble ’n Go, you help AEF continue supporting bright ideas like this throughout the Auburn Enlarged City School District.

🍎 Summer isn't over...but educators are already thinking about the first day of school.

While students are making the most of their summer adventures, Auburn teachers are beginning to plan lessons, prepare classrooms, and dream up new ways to inspire students this fall.

At the Auburn Education Foundation, we've seen firsthand how one innovative idea can make a lasting impact. Last year, AEF grants helped bring everything from Bungee Fitness and student wellness spaces to music labs, life skills cooking, literacy initiatives, and more to our schools.

What happens when learning is so much fun students can't wait to do it again?

At Auburn High School, students aren't just participating in physical education—they're experiencing it in an entirely new way.

Thanks to an Auburn Education Foundation grant this past year, Bungee Fitness has become an exciting addition to the PE curriculum, helping students build strength, coordination, confidence, and cardiovascular fitness through movement that's both challenging and engaging.

The response?

"Students keep asking if we're doing Bungee Fitness again."

That's exactly why AEF exists.

Our grants empower Auburn educators to think creatively, bring innovative ideas into the classroom, and create learning experiences students will remember long after the lesson ends.

Because sometimes, one great idea can completely change how students experience school.

This year, Gobble ’n Go is shining a little brighter.

Introducing the Gobble & Glo Mystery Hunt: a new way to explore downtown, enjoy every tasting stop and support Auburn classrooms.

Visit all seven participating venues in any order and look for a mystery clue at each one. Once you have collected all seven, bring your completed hunt card to the Knights of Columbus dessert finale to be entered into the raffle.

Every stop supports our Downtown Auburn venues and helps the Auburn Education Foundation create opportunities for students that go beyond the regular classroom budget.

Some of our favorite school memories don't start in the classroom—they start at home.

Whether it was helping with a science project, quizzing spelling words at the kitchen table, cheering from the stands, or celebrating report card day, parents and caregivers play an incredible role in every student's journey.

This innovative Auburn Education Foundation grant helps students connect with classrooms beyond our community through the simple—but powerful—act of handwritten letters and postcards.

It's a wonderful reminder that learning doesn't stop at the classroom door. Sometimes, it begins with a postcard and the excitement of discovering a new place, a new culture, or a new friend.

Sometimes, the most important classroom doesn't look like a classroom.

When students are overwhelmed, anxious, or struggling to regulate their emotions, learning becomes incredibly difficult.

Thanks to an Auburn Education Foundation grant, Auburn High School transformed an underutilized space into a Resiliency & Regulation Room—a calm, welcoming environment where students can pause, reset, and return to class ready to learn.

After just one month, the students embraced the space.

One student shared:

"This space helps me focus and be calm. I use the egg chair because it feels like a hug."

That's the impact our donors make possible.

Every year, Auburn educators bring forward innovative ideas to meet the evolving needs of their students. Through AEF grants, those ideas become reality—supporting academic success, emotional well-being, creativity, and opportunity throughout our schools.

Because sometimes, giving a student the chance to take a breath is exactly what helps them move forward.
