Yesterday, we kicked off the new school year by celebrating the incredible people who make Cayuga Onondaga BOCES such a special place to learn, work, and grow! ❤️

Our Opening Day Food Truck Rodeo and Benefits Bonanza brought faculty and staff together for great food, laughter, and a chance to reconnect before welcoming our students back. 🍔🍕🍦

But the celebration was about so much more than food!

This unique program allows motivated high school seniors to explore healthcare careers through classroom instruction, clinical rotations, job shadowing, and hands-on experiences with Auburn Community Hospital and other regional healthcare partners.

Candidates must possess or be eligible for NYS certification in Biology 7–12, Health Education, Practical Nursing, or Medical Assisting. Healthcare professionals interested in transitioning into education are strongly encouraged to apply!

Camp Create 2026: A Week of Innovation and Creativity!

What an incredible week it has been at Camp Create!

Over the past several days, students explored new ideas, solved problems, and built lasting friendships. Through creative challenges, modern technology, and hands on making, campers brought their ideas to life from initial concepts all the way to our final showcase.

Learning Pathways and Activities:

Arcade and Video Game Design

Students learned the fundamentals of game logic, mechanics, and interactive storytelling. Participants worked with digital tools to code, design, and play test their own custom video games.

Box Breakers

Participants challenged traditional design boundaries by turning simple raw materials into complex functional structures. This track focused on creative thinking, structural integrity, and rapid prototyping.

Cosplay and Character Design

Campers explored character creation by combining costume design, prop building, and artistic craft. Students learned how to bring fictional concepts to life using lightweight materials and creative construction techniques.

Hands On Skill Builder Sessions

Cardboard Construction and Project Work

Interactive Technology and Robotics with Makey - Makey and Hummingbird Robotics

Digital Modeling and 3D Fabrication

Graphic Design and Laser Cutting using Canva and Glowforge

Events like Camp Create highlight the deep impact of makerspace based education. Students do not just learn how to operate tools. They learn how to communicate, adapt when things do not work the first time, and collaborate to turn raw concepts into real objects.
