We're proud to celebrate the incredible success of this year's ASABE Foundation Dinner, which raised more than $27,500 for the ASABE Student Competition Endowment Fund. Thanks to a 1:1 matching initiative, that total became more than $55,000 in support of current and future student competitions.

Auburn was well represented throughout the evening! Congratulations to Olivia Ray and Aubrey Hoffnagle, whose team took home the win. We're also proud to share that the event medals were designed in part by our own Bobby Bradford, Engineering Associate in the Department of Biosystems Engineering!

These competitions give our students opportunities to apply their classroom knowledge, build professional connections, and represent Auburn on a national stage. Thank you to everyone supporting the future of ASABE student competitions!

The Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, an 110-question test, evaluates students' foundational understanding of core engineering principles (and passing it earns them a BSEN hart hat!). Congrats to our 2026 BSEN grads who conquered the FE! 👏

Today we celebrate the remarkable career of Dr. Mark Dougherty as he retires after 22 years with the Department of Biosystems Engineering!

We have so much to celebrate from the Department of Biosystems Engineering's trip to the ASABE Annual International Meeting (AIM 2026) in Indianapolis! 🎉 First, we're highlighting an outstanding achievement from our student researchers.

Congratulations to Hanieh, Chandra and Raziyeh, who earned second place in the ASABE Bioprocessing Startup Competition with AgroWet, a bio-based surfactant and spray adjuvant developed from a low-value byproduct of soybean oil processing. Designed to help spray droplets spread more evenly across leaf surfaces and improve agrochemical retention, AgroWet showcases how innovative research can create practical, sustainable solutions for agriculture.

The ASABE Bioprocessing Startup Competition challenges student teams to develop a bioprocess-based product, evaluate its technical and commercial potential, and pitch it to a panel of judges. As finalists, the team impressed judges with their research, entrepreneurial mindset and collaborative approach.

Each team member played a vital role: Hanieh led process development and formulation, Chandra evaluated process operation and scale-up potential, and Raziyeh conducted cost and sustainability analyses. Together, they transformed laboratory research into a promising startup concept.

The team also extends its gratitude to Dr. Nitesh Kasera and Dr. Hossein Jahromi for their mentorship and support throughout the project.
