What makes storytime successful? It’s not always getting through the book from start to finish.
Some days your child may climb in and out of your lap, want to switch books after two pages, or read the same page again and again. Or you only have a few minutes to read while dinner is heating on the stove. That's OK!
Every moment, even the small ones, provides an opportunity to connect.
So the next time you share a book, remember completing the story isn't the goal. The time you spend reading, talking, laughing, and sharing a book with your child is what matters most.

Toddlers are still learning how to communicate, so their behavior often speaks louder than their words. Between ages 1 and 3, they're learning to express emotions, test boundaries, explore their world, and become more independent. That's why it's completely normal to see:
- Frequent use of the word "no"
- Big reactions to changes in routine
- Tantrums when they're tired, overwhelmed, or can't express what they need
- Clinginess during separation or in new situations
- Defiance as they learn where the boundaries are
These behaviors aren't signs that something is wrong. They're part of healthy brain development.

Head Start strengthens communities. When children succeed, families thrive. When families thrive, communities grow stronger. Head Start helps parents pursue education and employment, connects families with essential resources, and prepares the next generation for success. That's why investing in Head Start is an investment in children, families, local economies, and stronger communities.
Congress is making decisions now about Fiscal Year 2027 funding for Head Start. Take one minute to ask your senators and representative to support the funding children, families, and communities are counting on at https://hubs.la/Q04rnhRN0
