Meet Hoffman Rhyne!

Hoffman serves as President and Academic Dean at Christ Our Redeemer Seminary, where he helps form students for faithfulness to Christ and fruitfulness in ministry.

His story begins in rural Benton, Alabama, and later at Auburn University, where he came to faith in Jesus Christ and sensed a call to global missions. Hoffman served for 19 years with Cru, the first half of which was spent serving as a missionary to China and Tibet, where he met his wife Courtney.

He and Courtney have 3 wonderful daughters and enjoy living life together as a family. They all love to travel, and their passion is making disciples and planting churches among unreached peoples and places.

At Christ Our Redeemer Seminary, we believe formation happens best in embodied community.

That’s why we are committed to in-person education, built around cohorts, mentoring, and shared life together, shaping students both theologically and spiritually for ministry in the local church.

We believe theological education is most effective when it is lived out in real relationships with faculty who are actively serving in church ministry.

Each Tuesday morning, the faculty and cohort students of Christ Our Redeemer Seminary gather to begin the class day in a simple but deep rhythm of prayer —shaped by Scripture and the needs of the Church, our neighbors, and the world.

This shared time forms our community around dependence on God and attentiveness to His mission. We invite you to join us in prayer using our weekly prayer guide.

Join Hoffman Rhyne, President and Academic Dean, for Introduction to Missional Theology, where you’ll discover how God’s mission shapes the storyline of Scripture, the life of the Church, and our calling as followers of Christ.

This foundational course explores the missio Dei (God’s mission) and equips students to see every area of theology through that lens.

📖 Course Spotlight: Hebrew I

Step into the language of Scripture in Hebrew I, taught by Dr. Erik Lundeen. This is the first course in a 4-course sequence designed to introduce students to the foundational grammar and syntax of biblical Hebrew in an engaging and accessible way. Through active learning Hebrew speaking, singing, memorization, and games students begin building real fluency in the language of the Old Testament.
