I am so proud of my staff and my students! As a school, we earned a silver implementation award from the California PBIS Coalition! A huge shout out goes to our entire staff for this recognition. We celebrated in the staff room with silver treats today. Way to go, Bucks!

Alta Vista - Where we know and celebrate each and every child!

We had such an exciting day today at Alta Vista! We have new sunflowers blooming in our garden, we harvested some carrots and some potatoes, and we got to rescue a baby fawn that has been on our playground for at least the past 24 hours.

The fawn rescue was a group effort including Sarah Brichler, one of our parents and AUSD Board of Trustees member, our Lead Custodian, Scott Daly, and me. Two of our students were there too! We named the fawn Baby Vista and she is now in the care of Kindred Spirits Fawn Rescue.

Gold Country Wildlife Rescue also assisted in the rescue and medically evaluated Baby Vista before we transported her to her new temporary home. Kindred Spirits Fawn Rescue located in Loomis will be caring for Baby Vista with the goal of releasing her back into the wild when she is ready.
