Stress isn't always a sign that something is wrong.

Sometimes it's a sign that something needs your attention.

Maybe you're carrying too much.

Maybe you've drifted away from what matters most.

Maybe you've been moving so quickly that you haven't had time to notice what your mind and body have been trying to tell you.

That's exactly why I created my free guide:

What Is Your Stress Trying to Tell You?

It's designed to help thoughtful leaders slow down, notice the signals, and uncover what their stress may be asking them to pay attention to.

Comment STRESS below and I'll send you the link.

This version also connects beautifully with the themes you've been talking about all week—slowing down, noticing what you're too close to see, and discerning what matters most.

So many thoughtful leaders have become so accustomed to carrying everything that they've lost sight of what actually matters most.

Boundaries aren't just about protecting your time. They're about creating space for what matters.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or unsure what needs to stay and what needs to change, a Clarity Conversation can help you slow down, untangle what's weighing on you, and discern your next step.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean it's yours to carry.

One of the most important leadership skills is learning the difference.

What are you carrying simply because you're capable?

08/04/2026

Ever look back and realize that what seemed random at the time was actually preparing you for what came next?

A class you took. A skill you learned. A conversation that sparked your curiosity. An interest you couldn't quite explain.

We don't always get to see how the pieces fit together while we're living them.

Sometimes the next step is simply to keep going and trust that what you're learning, noticing, and being drawn toward belongs to the story somehow.

Just because you're good at something doesn't mean it's yours to carry.

Many thoughtful leaders find themselves overwhelmed not because they lack capability, but because they keep saying yes to things they could do instead of pausing to ask if they should.

Sometimes the most important question isn't "Can I do it?"

It's "Is it mine to do?"

That's one of the themes that emerged in my recent conversation with Emily Sasser on The Stressed Out Leader Podcast.

Sometimes the work isn't what needs to change. Sometimes it's the way we're holding it.

If this resonates, schedule a Clarity Conversation through the link in my bio.

We often assume that if something feels heavy, it's because we're in the wrong work.

Sometimes that's true. But sometimes the work still matters.

What's asking to change is the way we're carrying it.

Before you make a major change, consider asking yourself a different question: What if the work still fits?

Sometimes the drive to make one thing more efficient creates complexity somewhere else.

The question isn't just, "Can we do this faster?"

It's, "Is this actually making us more effective?"

Technology can accelerate our work.

Discernment helps us decide what actually matters.

This week's episode explores why that distinction matters more than ever. Link in bio to listen.

AI can make many tasks faster. But faster isn't always more effective.
