Oakland Christian School exists to challenge and motivate each student to pursue excellence spiritually, academically, socially and physically. As each student grows in knowledge and understanding which is anchored in scriptural principles, he/she will develop integrity and Christian character. As a result each student will be able to discern and apply truth, develop a worldview consistent with Biblical absolutes, and be equipped to positively impact the culture in which he/she lives.

Our high schoolers are back from retreat, and this morning in chapel, they had the opportunity to pause and reflect on what God has been doing during their time away.

Senior Bella Gordon shared from Nehemiah, focusing on the reality of broken promises and what it looks like to follow Jesus beyond the retreat experience. She encouraged her classmates to rely on Jesus no matter what they’re facing, to seek Him first, and to obey when He calls.

“Spiritual revival compels us to start but doesn’t encourage us to finish.”

The retreat may be over, but the call to follow Jesus continues. We’re praying our students carry what God has started in their hearts into the days ahead.
