We would really like to give a big thank you to Dr. Thandi Sulé for speaking at our “Welcome to Wakanda” event last month! Dr. Sulé is an assistant professor of higher education and the coordinator of the masters program in Higher Education Leadership at OU. Her research interests include: educational equity issues, sense of belonging, and intercultural competencies. Dr. Sulé shared one of her current research focus areas which is Hip Hop culture in higher education. Amazing presentation!!

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: BGSA Would like to put the spotlight on Johnnie R. Blunt! Pictured here is Johnnie standing with our speaker at our April event Dr. Thandi Sulé and BGSA's Treasurer (Allison Palmer), President (Celeste Smith), and Vice-President (Juanita Tookes). We want to highlight Johnnie's dedication and participation in BGSA and his accomplishments as an amazing student at Oakland University.

Johnnie holds a bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of New Mexico, a master's degree in English Literature from Roosevelt University in Chicago, and a secondary master's degree in Library and Information Science from Wayne State University.
