Talking about families, ancestors, “back then” today….
One of my students mentioned “I just got an heirloom from my Grandma.”
“Oh, Wow…is it an antique?” picturing the necklace I received from my grandmother…her grandmother’s locket, from the late 1800’s.
The child went on to say, “Yes, Mrs. Hudson it’s an heirloom. From the olden days.
My grandma said it was from 1988.”
