Students attending Deerfield Elementary’s After-school Busy Bee program had an opportunity to learn more about Science and Technology with Oakland University preservice teachers today. Thanks to Betty Haugh Crowder, OU professor, future teachers had an opportunity to practice teaching, and our K-5 students had an opportunity to create, investigate, build and explore!

This evening, a group of teachers, future teachers, support staff, university faculty and school administrators left the warmth and comfort of their homes to come together in the ERL at OU so that they could learn more about working with children that are experiencing trauma. Thumbprint Studio-Saturday Art School- welcomed over 60 artists this morning, aged Kindergarten-Grade 5. Art Education students from Oakland University, studying to become art teachers, have the opportunity to observe, teach, support, and reflect on their future teaching practice under the guidance of their university professor (Nancy Taylor) and Thumbprint Studio’s incredible master teacher and mentor, Kelley Marie. It is incredible to see these little artists exploring, discovering, and creating. Thank you, Linda Tyson,for your leadership and partnership, and bringing all our dreams to life. ❤️

Students work with Oakland University Art Education students under the guidance of Mrs. Kelley Johnson (Auburn Elementary Art teacher.)
