π UPDATE: We are grateful to share that Leaond has been found safe and reunited with his family.
Thank you to everyone in our Avondale community who shared information, offered support, and kept Leaond and his family in your thoughts.

π Our Avondale community is strongest when we come together to support one another.
We are asking for your help in sharing this post from the Troy Police Department as they work to locate Leaond Pujols, an Avondale Middle School student who has been reported missing.
If you have any information that could assist in locating Leaond, please contact the Troy Police Department Tip Line at 248-524-0777.
We also encourage our community to rely on verified information from law enforcement and avoid sharing rumors or unconfirmed details on social media.

The graduation celebrations continued on Friday, May 29, as Avondale's Adult Transition Program (ATP; previously SKILL) proudly honored four graduates during a special ceremony at the newly renovated Adult Learning Center! πππ
This year's graduates hold a special distinction as the first students to complete the program and graduate from the transformed facility, made possible through the support of the 2024 Bond Program.
We are incredibly proud of these graduates and all they have accomplished. Congratulations to the ATP Class of 2026! We look forward to seeing the many ways you will continue to learn, grow, and make a positive impact in your communities. π
The Adult Transition Program serves Avondale residents ages 18-26 with developmental or cognitive disabilities, providing opportunities to build vocational, social, and independent living skills while learning to navigate community resources and real-world experiences. π‘ππ Innovation Day Showcases Student Creativity & Problem-Solving
Students across Avondale Schools recently put their creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration skills on display during Innovation Day events held throughout the district!
Working alongside their classroom teachers with the support of gifted education and instructional technology coach Michelle Gierman, students at the elementary level, middle school, and GATE Magnet School engaged in the design thinking process to identify real-world problems and develop innovative solutions. Throughout the semester, students researched issues, brainstormed ideas, created prototypes, gathered feedback, and refined their thinking before presenting their final projects.
The challenges students chose to tackle reflected both local and global concerns. Some groups explored ways to protect beetle populations and support butterfly life cycles, while others focused on addressing the global water crisis, improving environmental sustainability, or developing equitable and responsible uses of artificial intelligence. Each project highlighted students' ability to think creatively while applying learning to meaningful real-world situations.
