OCC Optimist Club Auburn HIlls

As of June 1st we are ending operations as a student organization at Oakland Community College (Official). We have had a hard time maintaining and gaining new members during the COVID pandemic. We have enjoyed our time being a club for almost the past 14 years we have been on campus.

Our club started officially July 1st, 2010 with our advisor Robin Brose with sponsorship from the Clarkston Area Optimist Club. The latest advisors we had before we decided to end operations as a student organization where Robin, Sharleen Longiotti and Richard G Russell Jr.

Our current officers included or amazing long serving President Spencer Stringer who served on the college club as president of the club from 2015 till now so 9 years as our amazing President. We also had one amazing secretary Sravan Kareti who made sure our meetings ran every time when we were on campus and also on Zoom during the pandemic years.

We wanna thank OCC for having us and we will always love you. Maybe one day the OCC optimist club can be back on campus, but not at the moment.

This is just the start of donations of food collected so far by the Clarkston Adult Optimist Club so far and some donations from our president Spencer and his grandmother. We are collecting donations all month long at the Clarkston Adult Optimist Club Meetings and the Staff at Honcho. Only 2 days until our 2nd annual canraiser event. We are feeling so excited

We are just now 8 days away from our second annual Valentine’s Day Canraiser at Oakland Community College Auburn Hills Campus in Building H from 9am till NOON. Please come play some iceless curling and learn about what the OCC AH Optimist Club dose. This event is open to all campuses and to the public too.

Just thought I would share this picture with our current secretary Sravan Kareti when he was still in MIchigan at the time before moving to California back in 2019. We sure do miss him but glad he attends our zoom meetings as much as he can.

The OCC Optimist Club Auburn Hills wishes you all a Merry Christmas today. There is no meeting tomorrow on 12/26 with it being the day after Christmas and festivités of Christmas might be continuing as well. So please enjoyed the day with loved ones. We will be back on 1/9/24 with our first new meeting of the 2024 year. Thank you President Spencer for this beautiful picture of the presents under the tree this morning at there house.

ICELESS CURLING

We are here at auburn hills campus doing iceless curling/can drive just in time for thanksgiving from 9-12 pm in building H. Come play some Iceless curling and bring a non perishable can good or anything to donate to Lighthouse North Of Clarkston. Hope to see you there.
