House Bill 1481 remains in effect this school year, prohibiting students from using personal communication devices, including cell phones, smartwatches, glasses, and similar devices, during instructional time.

As we begin the new school year, please talk with your student about this expectation and make sure their device stays powered off and put away throughout the school day.

Thank you for partnering with us to support a focused learning environment for all students.

This email was sent to incoming freshmen students at the end of July. We wanted to be sure everyone is prepared for tomorrow's Freshmen First Day so we are including this information on our page. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning!

Dear Class of 2030,

Welcome to Braswell High School! The entire BHS faculty and staff, as well as our student body, are excited you will be joining our growing family. We look forward to meeting you on August 12, 2026 when you take your first steps on a short journey to receiving your high school diploma. This letter provides the basic information you need in order to prepare for the beginning of the school year and Freshman First Day.

Please read the following information carefully:

Freshman First Day is on August 12, 2026 from 8:30AM-12:30PM

Freshman First Day will begin checking students in at 8:30AM in the main hallway, where students will receive a copy of their schedule.

Activities will start promptly at 9:00AM with an energetic assembly in the auditorium.

After the assembly, students will follow a mini-schedule to learn where their classes are located and give them an opportunity to meet their teachers. During this time, students will watch short videos on campus expectations and teachers will discuss school information and tips to improve success at BHS.

The day will conclude with a Clubs & Organizations Fair and lunch (free).

Because the day is active, please make sure your child wears comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement. Students are also encouraged to bring their own water and snacks to consume throughout the day.

This is a current 9th grade student-only function. Please allow students to attend on their own. Reminder, students should be following the Denton ISD personal communication device policy: Texas House Bill 1481 - From arrival to dismissal personal electronic devices are not allowed. Only School-issued devices are allowed for instructional purposes.
