❄️ Inclement Weather Update 7 ❄️

Denton ISD will be closed on Thursday, January 29.

Based on continued assessment of conditions, the amount of ice remaining on roadways due to prolonged overnight freezing temperatures, combined with limited melting and refreezing, has resulted in unsafe travel conditions in many areas across the district.

Campus conditions also continue to vary. Denton ISD’s Operations team has been working diligently to clear sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots at campuses; however, some locations remain less accessible due to surrounding road conditions and remaining ice, impacting safe access for buses, staff, and families.

The district will continue to monitor conditions closely. An update regarding school operations and instruction for Friday, January 30, will be shared as conditions are reassessed.

Coaches, activity directors, and sponsors will communicate directly with students and families regarding schedule changes related to before- and after-school activities.

Updates will continue to be shared through Denton ISD’s automated notification system, local media, and official district communication channels.
