Welcome to Kinder Time Academy!

Kinder Time Academy provides an intentional learning environment for children ages 3–6, designed to help young children build strong early academic skills, confidence, independence, and curiosity.

Our days include Morning Meeting, Literacy & Language, Early Writing, Life Science & Math experiences, sensory learning, and carefully planned opportunities for children to practice new skills in meaningful ways each day.

Every part of the day has a purpose. Activities are intentionally selected to support early learning while giving children opportunities to explore, create, problem-solve, and grow.

Building Habitats for Our Focus Letter Animals!

Our Explore & Build area brought literacy, science, and engineering together this week. The children used natural materials, blocks, loose parts, and lots of problem-solving to design homes for our focus-letter animals.

They planned what each animal might need, built their ideas, tested them, and made changes along the way. It’s a simple activity with a lot of learning packed into it—letter recognition, beginning sounds, habitats, creativity, collaboration, and early engineering.

This is what writing development looks like here at Kinder Time Academy.

We begin with a teacher-led lesson at the chalkboard, where children learn how to properly form the letter we’re working on. We model each stroke, talk through where to start, and then give them the chance to practice it themselves on a large scale.

From there, they move to the table for tracing and guided letter practice, helping them take those same movements and apply them with more control.

Then we make letters hands-on. Children explore, build, and create our monthly focus letters using manipulatives and different materials. This gives them another way to understand letter shape while strengthening fine-motor skills.

Our kindergartners take it a step further with true handwriting practice on lines, along with sight words and early reading activities.

The goal is not just to copy a letter. It is to understand how the letter is formed, practice it in different ways, and gradually build the confidence and control to write it independently.

A little photo dump from our week at Kinder Time Academy! 📸

We built letters with wooden blocks, created animal habitats and structures, practiced our focus letters C, P and T. Strengthened fine-motor and prewriting skills by following straight, curved, and zigzag lines with loose parts and so much more!

The best learning happens when children are actively building, creating, experimenting, and proudly sharing what they’ve accomplished. 💚
