🗣️ The Players’ Truth

Players are not machines. They are sons, brothers, fathers — human beings with dreams.

👉 Treat players the way you treat your children, or the way you want your children to be treated.
👉 Respect, fairness, and care are not optional — they are a right.
👉 The future of Ghana football depends on how we protect and nurture our players today.

YOU ARE NOT A SLAVE!

When your contract ends, your obligation to the club ends too. But some club owners still try to threaten, guilt-trip, or force players to return — not with offers or respect, but with fear. That’s not football. That’s abuse.

Too many African players are treated like property even after giving everything to a club. Instead of being appreciated or persuaded to stay, they are insulted or blackmailed — “After all we did for you…” they say. But what they did was business. The contract was clear. You fulfilled your side. You owe them nothing else.

You are a professional. You have a right to choose what’s next. If they want you, let them negotiate — not intimidate. Loyalty cannot be demanded where respect is absent.

✊🏽 To every player reading this: You are free to move. Free to grow. Free to choose.

“They get injured and are left to their own fate.”
No medical support. No insurance. No compensation.
Just silence.
This is the harsh reality many African footballers face.
We must demand better.

“Play for free and hope for an opportunity.”

That’s what they tell young local players — like they’re doing them a favor.

But let’s be real…

How do you feed yourself with hope?
How do you pay rent with opportunity?
How do you take care of your family with promises?

Many local players in Ghana and across Africa go months without salary. No support. No insurance. No protection. Just broken contracts and false hope.

Meanwhile, club owners live comfortably — delaying pay, disrespecting players, and hiding behind excuses.

⚠️ This is not football development. This is exploitation.

Local players deserve:
âś… Timely pay
âś… Dignity
âś… Professional contracts
âś… Respect

We must speak up. Share this. Tag the authorities. Hold them accountable.

Every player deserves to be treated right.

📣 THEY GO MONTHS WITHOUT PAY!

How do local players survive when clubs owe them salaries for 3, 6—even 12 months?

Some can’t afford food. Others can’t pay school fees or rent. They borrow to survive. Some even quit football entirely.

Yet they still show up. They train. They play. They give their all. đź’”

Meanwhile, club owners live comfortably and shift blame. No accountability. No protection. No shame.

📌 This is modern-day exploitation—hidden behind jerseys and matchday hype.

🔊 Where is the GFA? CAF? FIFA?
🔊 Where are the player unions and football authorities?

Enough is enough.
Local players deserve dignity. They deserve timely salaries. They deserve protection.

🛑 Behind every unpaid player is a hungry child, a worried wife, a struggling home, and a dying dream.

Tag, share, speak up.
Every player deserves to be treated right. ✊🏾⚽

“Disrespected and Discarded: How African Club Owners Are Failing Local Players”

In the heart of African football lies an uncomfortable truth — many local players are treated with shocking levels of disrespect by the very people meant to protect their careers: club owners.

❌ Players are undervalued

Young men and women sacrifice their bodies, time, and energy chasing the dream. But in return, they’re given:
• No contracts.
• Unpaid or delayed salaries.
• Zero medical coverage.
• Verbal abuse when they speak up.

Some owners see them not as professionals, but as disposable tools. Once injured or no longer “useful,” these players are cast aside without concern for their welfare or future.

“You’re lucky to even be here.”
“If you don’t like it, leave.”
These are the kinds of statements players hear behind closed doors.

⚠️ A toxic culture of silence

Many players fear speaking out because of blacklisting, threats, or career sabotage. This silence has created a toxic system where power is abused and talent is wasted.

How do we expect Ghanaian or African football to grow when the grassroots are treated like garbage?

🛑 It’s time to hold people accountable

Respect, dignity, and professionalism are not luxuries — they are rights.
Footballers are not slaves. They are athletes, workers, and human beings who deserve fair contracts, prompt payment, and respect from those in power.

📢 We call on the following bodies to act:
• Ghana Football Association ()
• CAF – Confederation of African Football ()
• FIFPRO Africa ()
• Ghana Professional Footballers Association (GPFA)
• Ministry of Youth and Sports – Ghana ()
• FIFA ()

You have the platform, the power, and the responsibility to change this culture.

🗣️ It starts with us.

At The Player’s Truth, we are committed to exposing injustice, amplifying the voices of those unheard, and demanding a better football system for Africa.

⚽ “He trained every day.
Played through pain.
Went months without pay.
No insurance. No contract.
And when he got injured — they replaced him like he was nothing.”

This is not fiction. This is the truth of too many Ghanaian and African footballers.

It’s time to change the narrative.
It’s time to tell their stories.
It’s time the world sees what really happens off the pitch.
