Meet Zita...
Zita will be entering her junior year in the Fall. She plays trombone in both concert and jazz band. She previously played a year of tuba in band, is learning the trumpet, and has played the piano for over 10 years. She helps out the middle school jazz band by performing with them on piano at concerts. She most recently received a score of 98 (out of 100) on trombone during Michigan’s State Solo and Ensemble festival, has been accepted into District 9’s All Star band every year of her middle/high school career, and has performed with the MSBOA All State Band.

Zita holds a 4.004 GPA while being actively involved in Concert Band, Jazz Band, Solo and Ensemble, Science Olympiad (where she has attended States at MSU), Varsity Basketball and Track/Field, the Sterling Teen Advisory Committee (where she attended the Student Advocacy Day in Lansing), and National Honor Society.

In the most recent NHS election, Zita was elected by her peers as Secretary. She takes time almost every week to volunteer at our local Closet Exchange and St. Mark’s Food Pantry. She has also volunteered at multiple food drives held by the Sterling Area Health Center. Previously, Zita has both tutored and done piano accompaniment for younger band students. She plans to use music to further her volunteer work in the future.

Zita plans to pursue a degree in either Architecture or Biology with a minor in Music. Her dream college of acceptance is the University of Michigan.

She spends her downtime by practicing her photography/editing, creating art in various forms (sketches, painting, etc), watching her favorite movies and shows, and hanging out with family and friends.

Hello, my name is Aubrey Hewitt. I am a junior at Au gres Sims high school. I play alto saxophone in the senior band. I have played in the senior jazz band for three years, and the senior concert band for two years. I have been selected for the district 9 all star band four times, where I was in first chair for three. I have gone to solo ensemble festival four times, where I received a 1 on three of my solos and a 2 on my most recent. I also performed in a percussion quartet, a saxophone quartet, and two duets, where each time we received a 1. I currently hold a 3.2 GPA, and hope to go to CMU to study music and play in the marching band. I am aiming to major in music and become a band director.

Meet Blaise...
Blaise will be entering his sophomore year in the Fall. He plays alto saxophone in Concert Band and tenor saxophone in Jazz Band. He most recently was accepted into the University of Michigan's Michigan Youth Ensemble. He is currently rehearsing with the Wind Ensemble at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and has performed with the MSBOA All State Band.

Blaise holds a 4.0 while being actively involved in Concert Band, Jazz Band, Solo and Ensemble, Science Olympiad (where he took his design to States at MSU), Varsity Baseball (Pitcher), and auditioning for extracurricular concert opportunities.

Blaise plans to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Music Performance. His dream college of acceptance is Michigan State University.

In his downtime, he really loves to build, hang out with his family, and relax with his pet Chihuahua.
