Attleboro Historic Preservation Society. The Attleboro Historic Preservation Society, Inc. Attleboro Historic Preservation Society provides various historic programs thoughout the year.

The Attleboro Historic Preservation Society is a non-profit organization to assist the Attleboro Historical Commission in the preservation and education of Attleboro history. was organized in 1999 by a group of citizens concerned with the future of the East Attleborough Academy Building built in 1842. Saved from demolition, AHPS is working to restore the National Register of Historic Places buildi

ng to use as its headquarters from which it will inspire and lead the preservation movement in Attleboro. The programs include lectures, exhibits, walking tours and house tours. We also support the City, friends and other non-profits throughout the year with pop-up displays and participate in a variety of events. AHPS has a Historic Structure Recognition Plaque program which provides property owners who participate, a plaque for the front of their property attesting to the property's age and original owner. Owners who's properties have been restored or maintained consistent with their period may apply for the program.

This Saturday at 2pm: Join us for our 'Making of the Museum' Second Saturday event.

As the Attleboro Area Industrial Museum rounds the corner on 51 remarkable years, we’re taking a step back to share the full story. Learn about the history of the organization, where we came from, the visionaries who founded us, the mission that has guided us, and the exciting road ahead.

This event also marks a special opportunity to bring our 50th Anniversary Campaign across the finish line. We’re just $12,000 away from our goal and every gift, large or small, moves us closer. Details on how to contribute and be a part of the next fifty years will be shared at the event.

Light refreshments will be served. Bring your family, bring your friends, and come ready to be proud of what this community has built together.

This event is free and open to the public.
