Wednesday we got outside to enjoy a little outdoor camping right here in the backyard! Kids set up a tent on their own, we turned the dome climber into a fort, built a campfire and roasted s'mores and pigs in a blanket. We discussed different ways to start a fire, necessities we should pack if we were going on a long hike or camping, different types of shelters that could be made/used, ways to collect water, foraging, and first aid.

We had some rain last week and spent a fun day inside building different types of forts, building with lego and playing pretend with castles. We celebrated a friends birthday as well!

Carnival games were a hit last week! We played about 9 different games, and everyone chose prizes at the end. Then after lunch they enjoyed some swim time to end the day!

We had a special guest come to camp last week! Mr.Twister had loads of silly jokes to tell, made some cool balloons and shocked the kids with some magic tricks! 🎩 Kids put their artistic skills to work and painted each other's faces, we made cotton candy, jumped in the bounce house, and made on own giant bubbles!

This week is Carnival week! (We had to switch up week 7&9, so week 9 will be Mad Science!

We had two days of Candy Land fun this week! We played the first day using cards from the Candy Land game. Day two we changed up the colored square path, used a large colored dice rather than the cards and played on teams! There were lots of treats, and prizes won! We colored Candy Land themed pictures and had fun swimming too!

Week 6 of camp begins tomorrow and it's going to be sweet! 🍭 🧁 🍬 🍫

I can't believe we've already completed 5 weeks of camp, which means summer is more than half way over! 😫 We had fun with our Kitchen Creations week. We took advantage of some sunshine on Tuesday and the kids built a solar oven and we baked some chocolate chips cookies! There were a lot of clouds though and only a high of about 80° our solar oven only got up to 107° so cookies were taking a long time to bake. Good thing we bought safe to eat dough. 😆
We had a rain day on Wednesday which was a perfect day for indoor activities. We made homemade ice cream in a bag, we tried lemon flavor and vanilla flavor. Vanilla was the favorite! We decorated wooden ice cream cones,made shark fortune tellers and at the end of the day students put on a little impromptu talent show featuring dancing and karaoke. 🎶

Week 4 of camp was enchanting. 🧚‍♀️ We swam, we built little wooden houses for little critters or fairy friends and had fun painting them. We collected sticks and used ribbon to make magic wands and even tried turning Ms.Beverly into a chicken! 🐔 We painted rocks, (and our hair..its washable!) and got creative using clay.
