Home Security important to you?

I get asked this question almost as often as I get asked "what g@n should I buy" ...

If you don't have cameras at your house and can only get one I would have this one. Place it inside where it can see the main door you want to monitor and if someone breaks in it will let you know before they get 10 feet past the door.

Prosecutors Decline Charges in Warren Defensive Shooting (Macomb County, MI): Prosecutors in Macomb County, Michigan, officially ruled that a August 8 shooting in Warren was fully justified under self-defense law. Investigators established that a 28-year-old man violently assaulted his 63-year-old father and threatened occupants inside a home; his 25-year-old brother, a valid Concealed Pistol License (CPL) holder, fired to protect his family. All potential charges were declined and the shooter was released.

When high-stress, life-altering situations occur, your brain does not have time to weigh options—it defaults to whatever you’ve already prepared for.
Looking at contrasting approaches to personal safety, one reality remains constant regardless of which path you choose: you must make your decision long before the emergency happens.
When panic hits, the human mind goes straight into survival mode. If you haven't pre-decided your course of action and mentally rehearsed it through visualization, you won't pause to deliberate—you will freeze.
In critical moments, indecision is a choice. Failing to pre-determine your response means allowing freezing to become your default setting by default.
How to build your response ahead of time:
* Pre-Decide Your Strategy: Know in advance where your lines are drawn. Determine what you are willing to give up and under what exact conditions you will move, escape, comply, or act.
* Practice Mental Visualization: Walk through scenarios step-by-step in your mind. Mental rehearsal builds neural pathways that lower panic, shorten response times, and reduce the likelihood of freezing under stress.
* Train Until It's Automatic: Whatever your strategy involves—situational awareness, de-escalation, escape routes, or defensive tools—skills must be practiced until muscle memory takes over when higher cognition shuts down.
Hope is not a strategy. Train your mind and pre-make your decisions today, before a critical moment forces a choice on you.

A road rage incident in Charleston, West Virginia ended with one man dead after he allegedly made a U-turn, came back, got out of his vehicle, approached another driver, and struck him multiple times.

The part that matters most?

The other driver had already pulled over to avoid the confrontation.
That is the move everybody tells you to make.

Don’t engage.
Don’t escalate.
Don’t race him.
Don’t brake check him.
Just get off the road and let him go.

And according to investigators, that’s exactly what the armed driver tried to do.

But the road rager came back.

That U-turn changed everything.

Because once you turn around, come back, get out, close distance, and start hitting a stranger on the side of the road, you are not trying to avoid a fight anymore.

You are bringing the fight to him.

And at that point, the person who tried to leave may be forced into a decision he never wanted to make.

One round was fired.

The threat stopped.

And now the legal system has to decide what name to put on it.
Homicide does not automatically mean murder.

It means one human being killed another human being.

That is the starting point.

The real question is whether the shooting was justified.
Could the shooter have left?

Did he reasonably fear death or serious bodily injury?

Was the threat still active?

Those are the questions prosecutors have to answer.

But from a self-defense perspective, this case is a brutal reminder that “just drive away” only works when the other person lets you.

You can de-escalate.
You can pull over.
You can hand the other guy the entire road.

But if he turns around and brings the fight back to you, every good decision you made collapses into the reality of what’s within arm’s reach.

Be the person willing to let stupid stay stupid.

Take the exit.

Let him win the imaginary road rage contest.

But carry anyway.

Because the other guy gets a vote.

251 years ago today — April 19, 1775 — the first shots of the American Revolutionary War rang out at Lexington and Concord.
“The shot heard 'round the world” sparked a revolution that would change the course of human history and give birth to a new nation founded on liberty.
From the brave minutemen on Lexington Green to the determined farmers and militiamen who turned the British retreat into a running battle, ordinary Americans stood up to empire and declared: enough.
Today we remember their courage, their sacrifice, and the enduring idea that free people will not be ruled without their consent.
