1 more week till the Solar Eclipse! 🌑🌞🕶️

Here is a great idea to help your child with the safety glasses.

You want to make sure your child keeps their glasses on properly the entire time so they don’t damage their eyes.

The Easter Bunny 🐰 hopped right through Preschool and left our friends eggs. He even hid our baskets ! 🧺

We were just notified tonight there will be no school on April 8th our return date will be April 10th . We will send home notes in everyone’s bag tomorrow. Everyone can enjoy the solar eclipse day !

Please see the following message from Superintendent Dr. Kiel Illg:

After careful consideration and consultation with peers, emergency management services, administration and our Board of Education, I have made the decision to close schools on Monday, April 8, 2024 due to the Solar Eclipse.

Given the unique circumstances being created by the Solar Eclipse (ie. including the challenges of anticipated traffic issues and concerns of the lack of availability of emergency services), our availability of "snow days/emergency closure days" built into our calendar and our ongoing review of the calendar we have decided to make the instructional changes at this time.

I understand that this change may require adjustments for students, parents, and staff members, and we will work diligently to communicate this decision effectively beginning today.

I am hopeful that announcing this decision now will provide families and our employees more appropriate time to plan for the change of the instructional calendar.

Additionally, there will be no activities or events and all buildings/offices will be closed.

I hope you enjoy the day with your family, friends and loved ones.

Attention families of incoming kindergarten students! Kindergarten screening will take place on May 16 and 17th. If your child currently attends the preschool program at Attica elementary, you do not need to schedule a screening. They will be screened during their class time.
