Weather update:

Parents of ACS students,
As I'm sure you know by now, there is a tropical storm sitting in the southwestern Gulf that is anticipated to trek northward and intensify into a Category 1 or 2 hurricane before making landfall somewhere between southeastern Mississippi and the western Florida panhandle. So that puts Atmore right in the target zone. The landfall is anticipated be sometime late Friday into early Saturday morning.

We don't currently plan to close ACS on Friday or the following Monday, but we are watching carefully. Depending on where the eye of the storm makes landfall, Atmore could just gets lots of rain or could also get winds in excess of 60-80 mph (which could potentially bring down some trees or damage roofs).
If a decision is made to close school on Friday or have a 12:30 release on Friday, on Thursday we will post on our school page and I will send emails to you all. If you don't receive any information about closing, please assume school is going on as planned.
Thank you. - Mr. Morris
