Ice cream sundaes on a warm summer evening was a fun way to end our week of Emerald Crossing VBS! Thank you families for prioritizing your kids' time for Bible learning. In a world filled with worry and confusion, kids need to know there is a God who cares for them. This week, they learned about the life of the shepherd-king David and how they can cross from worry to peace, from fear to faith, and from uncertainty to a firm foundation in God’s Word through a relationship with the Good Shepherd.

Saying goodbye to Emerald Crossing today - but see you tonight at our closing program and ice cream social! Going from "shaky to sure!" Today we learned that we can look for God’s goodness and mercy, our traveling companions through life. And reminded that we can have great hope of living with Jesus forever if we trust in Him and accept His gift of the cross, the payment for our sins. Our memory verse: Psalm 23:6 (ESV): Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

VBS day 4 focused on going from "grumbling to grateful." Because of God's good gifts to us, we can have an attitude of gratefulness in every situation. Our memory verse: Psalm 23:5 (ESV): "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows."

"From fearful to peaceful," was our focus on VBS day 3. When we go through hard times, God is our Comforter. Like David of the Bible, we can turn to the Lord for comfort when we are worried or afraid. Today's memory verse: Psalm 23:4 (ESV): "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Today we had 120 "lads and lassies" with us at Emerald Crossing. What a blessing!

Great fun, singing, crafts, games and learning from the Word of God today at day 2 of VBS! Today's memory verse: Psalm 23:2–3 (ESV): "He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake." In a world filled with worry and confusion, it is wonderful for kids need to learn that there is a God who cares for them and that the Bible is a trustworthy guide to lead us through life!

What a great first day of VBS, with 118 smiling faces greeting us! Emerald Crossing explores God's promises in Psalm 23. Today's key verse was Psalm 23:1 "The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want." Kids learned that like David, of the Bible, each of them can be a child of God and have the Lord as their shepherd.
